The new Thuringian Ministry forms together with the old listed clubhouse a new landmark on the southern outskirts of Erfurt. It becomes the interface between the urban settlements of Erfurt and the open countryside.

The new extension makes use of geothermal energy, heat pump, concrete core activation, daylight control, photovoltaic and sustainable materials to be constructed as a zero-energy house.
